Welcoming Ed Wilkinson
Our Lady of the Pillar is thrilled to welcome Ed Wilkinson as the inaugural interim headmaster/ teacher.
Before marrying his wife, Linda, and nurturing the Wilkinson School for 32 years together, Ed knew he wanted to be a teacher. His love for teaching began through his own education from Villanova University (BA English, 1964), Claremont Graduate University (MA British and American Literature, 1966), and UC Berkeley (California State Lifetime Teaching Credentials, K-8 and High School-Junior College). Upon receiving his credentials, his passion grew through an experience teaching as the a teacher of Spoken English in the U.S. Peace Corps in the Republic of Korea for two years.
Years later, he joined his wife in fostering the Wilkinson School with the mission, “The education of the whole child: heads, hands and heart”
What awakened Ed and Linda out of their 15-year retirement is the call from Our Lady of the Pillar Academy to launch out into even deeper waters and add one more dimension to their original formula: head, hands, heart AND soul.
God’s love and mercy has touched our lives abundantly and we want to seize this opportunity to pass on the Good News to the next generation. St. Francis taught his disciples to preach the gospel, “and sometimes use words”.
It’s time to use words!
It is our vision that when children come to Our Lady of the Pillar Academy, they will receive a strong academic education based on a classical Catholic curriculum, as well as an everlasting spiritual formation by experiencing a school culture founded on the goodness, truth and beauty of Christ the Teacher.
